WOOLLACOTT ASSOCIATION

JANACE ANNE - RESCUE INFORMATION

Close

The Woollacott Association has been gifted Janace Anne in order to save her from the scrap heap. Janace Anne has been neglected for a few years and is in a need of Antifouling and a bit of paint, along with some other work. We do have a young person that is keen to take care of Janace Anne once she if up and running.

The Woollacott Association has arranged for Janace Anne to be hauled out at DYC on Saturday 13th Dec around 1500hrs for around two weeks, first step is to scrap the weed off and give it a good water blast. On Sunday 14th Dec start to sand ready for Antilfouling. It would be great to get the topside's sanded and painted at the same time, along with working through getting the motor running.

Any support and assistance during this period would be most appreciated, some donations (or say memberships fees for the last few years) would be of great assistance to cover required materials and hauling/mooring fees. JANACE ANNE - RESCUE WORK SHEET

Motor: We will attempt to get the existing motor running, hopefully over next few days, or soon after Christmas. Depending on the outcome, backup is 10HP Bukh which would be excellent. (After checks made so far on existing motor I am confident we will get it running)

Keel: Next step is to smooth exposed timber area and undercoat, if have time will do next few days, I have undercoat paint. I have ordered two tins of Red antifouling paint. Some rot to cut out in two places and patch.

Topsides: I think it will be best to take the top layer of paint off, sand and build up again, this is normal house paint and will get from Hammer Hardware Wed.

Cabin: Will need sanding and painting.

Deck: will need patching

Forward hatch: hatch in good condition however the surround has some rot and will be best to cut out and put new piece in

Cockpit trim: some good, some bad and will need replacing

Inside: At this stage will just look at vacuuming and washing down, in ok condition, some paint wouldn't hurt in places, can be done later though.

Rig: The ropes do need removing, soaking, washing, they are not too bad now they have been water blasted. Stays etc are ok, Mast could do with taking out and varnishing, however not important at present.

Sail: Will need repairing and new Sail cover

In general Janance Anne is is reasonable condition, just a bit of time and materials.
