Designed and built by B.S. Woolacott, a naval architect who had previously worked in the Herreshoff office before the Great War. Launched in 1917 but completed and commissioned in 1919 after the war. Bought by the father of the present owner in 1921 and sailed by the family ever since, with various major refits along the way that have kept her in good shape. The last period of major work was in 1995 by Nash and Holden in Dartmouth when keel bolts were replaced, new bronze strap floors fitted, deck sheathed with new toe rails and the interior was modified. In 2015 the hull was stripped entirely and no rot or damage was found anywhere. She has barely been used in recent years but is still put afloat each spring and laid up ashore in the winter with full all over covers to protect her. In the past the family have cruised extensively around the UK, northern Europe and Ireland and they rigged the boat for extended offshore cruising. She has been tested on a number of occasions in severe weather where she has always looked after her crew. Extensive amount of gear with the boat, all stored at the owners house. A deserving, knowledgeable and caring new owner is sought to carry on the custody of this lovely old lady so the family can be assured she will continue sailing for years to come.
